At First Sight

This sweet little baby is my grandmother's 27th great grandchild. And she was so happy to meet him. Looks like the feeling was mutual.

Love it how little babies make everybody go all soft on the inside. And love it that my grandmother thinks I'm doing a great job with my own two little ones seeing that she raised six of her own.

Just trying to walk in the footsteps of the great women before me, like my grandmother, who brought children up to love them and who still surround her with love.

What Happened to the Parents I Knew?

You would think that my parents are first-time grandparents they were they were swooning over the baby. And isn't it amazing how your parents as grandparents resemble nothing of the parents that you grew up with? They are all mushy and lax on the discipline and stuff.

300 Mile Hair Cut

Hair cuts are a weekly thing in this household.......and every week along with the hair cut comes crying, weeping, snotting. So I had a professional cut our big boy's hair. The first hair cut went well. The second one didn't happen due to all the crying, weeping and snotting. Can anyone tell me why a kid who has been getting his hair cut for years can't stop crying about it?

We headed home to the Bay Area last week to visit so I decided to stop by my cousin's barbershop to see if he could help us out since he's good with kids. The heaven's opened up and this kid sat there without crying and squirming. Then he tells me he wants him to always cut his hair. 300 miles for a tear-free hair cut!

There's one member of our household who took his hair cut like a man.....and it was his first.

3 Months and Counting........

Our DSL is back. Oh Happy Day for this computer/internet junkie. Didn't realize how much I depended on the internet.

Our sweet little baby is 3 months old today--already! And still, I can't get enough of this precious little guy. It was so hard to get a picture of him today--all the squirming and fidgeting. You would think he's ready to get up and walk already.

What he's been up to:

:: He's sucking on two fingers instead of his whole fist. And prefers that over the pacifier.
:: His face lights up when he sees big brother, who is his constant source of entertainment.
:: He will watch his daddy play the guitar for a good while without fussing.
:: His curly hair has been trying to turn into a mini Afro
:: He is sleeping through the night--seven and eight hours at a time!!
:: He is notorious for grabbing his own hair (a little too hard at times).
:: He is laughing at loud more and more.
:: And offering lots of sweet, sweet smiles.
:: He will look straight into the camera and smile (did big brother teach him that one?)

The Beauty (and Pain) of Modern Technology

The Pain: My DSL and phone lines are down........something about the line underground being damaged. Talk about one sad mommy. I feel so out of the loop. I managed to get to my sister's house to upload this video for my parents. They are going through baby withdrawal.

The Beauty: I captured our sweet baby laughing out loud for the first time on Friday. So bear with me while I satisfy the grandparents.
