“Whatever they grow up to be, they are still our children, and the one most important of all the things we can give to them is unconditional love. Not a love that depends on anything at all except that they are our children.” ~ Rosaleen Dickson
Feels like every time I turn around, I'm out buying something for these boys. Especially shoes.........why doe little boys wreck shoes?
I spent last week rummaging through the closet trying to find pants to fit both of them because, well, capris don't work for boys. With autumn upon us, I've discovered that not only does their summer wardrobe need to be replaced....the entire wardrobe needs replacing with bigger sizes.
So my latest project has been tossing out the old and finding something to fit these growing boys of mine. There are baby socks that longer cover heels and big boy feet that have grown a whole shoe size seemingly overnight. New jackets to be bought and warmer pajamas for them to snuggle into at night.
I'm often amazed at my un-selfishness when it comes to these two kids. I'll spend my last on them, even if it means I go without. I get great pleasure out of buying them what they want. I recently came home with a S.uper M.ario B.ros. tee for my big boy. Talk about excited! You would have thought we were going to Disneyland.
Makes me think of God........and how He wants to give us good things that make our heart glad. It gives me chills now thinking about how that feeling of delight that I get in providing for and caring for these two little boys is the same feeling that God has about me. It is God's good pleasure to give us the Kingdom and all that comes with it.
So while I'm delighting in dressing these little boys and making sure they have clothes and shoes that fit. I remember that I have a Heavenly Father who delights in doing the same for me!
