So the book club that I am a part of is taking a a hiatus for the month of December. Bummer......sure it gives me time to catch on personal reading, but I really miss seeing these girls for our monthly meeting. There's great food, good company, lively conversation and absolutely NO kids. LOVELY to say the least. We actually just got the selection for January, but I've been re-reading Dr. James Dobson's book "Bringing Up Boys." LOVE IT. LOVE IT. LOVE IT. And love his radio show. Good solid, practical advice on how to understand boys and give them a solid footing in the world and the Word of God. I'm reading this book like it's my first time. Kids don't need more toys, clothes or extracurricular activities--they simply need parents who are willing to spend time with them. People consider Dr. Dobson to be too straight laced, but I can't get enough of him. What could be more exciting than building a strong healthy home? If you have sons, check his book out. Anyway, I'll have to put the book to the side again to get back in the book club flow. Here's a look at the books we've read--some highs and some lows.........but one thing for sure. They all made for great conversation.
