Love Thursday~Love Is Here

One of my girlfriends got married this past weekend. I LOVE weddings.......and what I love even more is how it sweeps a breath of fresh air through my own marriage and fills my husband up with even more love! Happy Love Thursday. Love is all around here.

I was rummaging around my computer looking for a file and found this....a poem I wrote five years ago celebrating our upcoming wedding. Very fitting for this post!

Love Is Here
Just For Us

Here, my love,
Take my hand
And my heart.
Let us run wildly
Through these wide green pastures
whispering sonnets of devotion
Just For Us
Sit with me and drink deeply
From this sweet cup of love
placed before us
Come with me
Embrace this eager bright day
That God birthed
Just For Us
Look at how our love is taking flight
Like an eagle
Soaring confidently
Let us follow it
Listen to the breezes
Light with giggles and whispers
Of adoration
Look at the light and laughter
In the eyes and on the smiles of family and friends
Gathered here today.
If you listen closely
Their hearts are applauding
Just For Us
Can’t you hear the melodic echo
Of my heartbeat
It mirrors your own
And it is pulsing a steady rhythm
Of Love.

Love Thursday-Remembering

Before my aunt passed, she had planned to make gumbo before Christmas and have family over. However, she was in the hospital at the time. After her passing, her children kept her plans going and had family over for gumbo. She would have loved it! Here's a very small portion of the family that gathered to remember her over good food and good conversation. I LOVE family. Love is all around here.

Love Thursday: Happiness is..........Cousins

Growing up, there was never a shortage of cousins for me to play with. I LOVED my childhood for its great family gatherings and all the fun times I shared with my cousins. Matter of fact, a number of my cousins and I are so close we call each other sista-cousins. Sadly, Rhyan doesn't have that bond because I chose to move away from home. But on our recent visit during Christmas, he had more than his share of fun with my cousin's kids. My heart couldn't have been warmed more than to see my cousins and my cousin's kids loving each other.

Love Thursday~Instant Bond

My father has two daughters. So when Rhyan, his only grandson, came along needless to say he fell instantly in love. Truth is, my father loves all kids. But he and Rhyan have a different kind of bond. The kind where mommy doesn't exist when Papi is around. The kind that made my dad travel 400 miles to take care of his grandson during week-long breaks so mommy wouldn't miss work. He was to come down in July to watch Rhyan, but was feeling ill. The diagnosis-multiple myeloma, a blood cancer. Papi's visits have been cut short, but the love still stretches far and wide between grandfather and grandson. I covet your prayers for my father. Not only for healing and strength in his body, but for a personal relationship with Jesus. We love you Daddy--and thank you for loving my boy so sweetly.

Love Thursday-Grace For the Journey

Tomorrow marks five years of marriage! Seems so long ago and yet only like yesterday. The number five represents grace in the Scriptures. Lord, may your grace follow these two soul-mates for years to come.

Love the Fun One

My younger sister is the fun one--always has been. So it's no wonder that she's turned out to be one fun aunt to her only nephew. She's the one who buys him the coolest toys I never think to buy and then has a ball playing with him. Yesterday the doorbell rang and he yelled, "Auntie Bobbi!" And ran to the door. "No Rhyan it's the delivery guy." Of course he had a fit when he saw that it really was the delivery guy. Later on that night he handed me his handy dandy notebook and said, "I want to draw a picture of Auntie Bobbi." He can't get enough of that girl. And she can't get enough of him.
